Altea
Altea is the postcard: white houses climbing a hill, cobbled lanes too narrow for cars, and at the top a church with two domes of blue and white tile that you can see from the sea. Painters have come here for a century, and the galleries and small studios are still open.
Below, the seafront runs along pebble beaches to a working marina. There are no towers here — the town has kept its scale deliberately, and the mountains of Sierra de Bernia stand behind it.
