Denia
Dénia is a real town with a real port — ferries leave daily for Ibiza and Mallorca, and the fish market still sets the price of the famous red prawn each morning. UNESCO named it a City of Gastronomy, and the restaurants earn it.
An eleventh-century castle sits on a rock in the middle of town. North of it stretch fourteen kilometres of sandy beach; south, the coast turns to rocky coves under the Montgó mountain. Both are within ten minutes of the centre.
